Easy ZZ
1990
Polychromed Found Wood/ Dowels
14"H x 9"W x 20"D |
|
For years, I've enjoyed the raucous
sound of ZZ Top, especially Legs, La Grange and Sharp
Dressed Man.
I found a log which carried that same
care-free spirit in a pile of wood next to a friend's driveway.
Art gave it to me gladly. I added the wind-swept hair, the eager
eyes, the gnarly smile.
The piece then suggested the cool bearing
of Wyatt (Captain America) and Billy tooling down the highway
on their motorcycles, blasts of wind sweeping through their free
flowing hair.
Easy ZZ
blends the spirit of ZZ Top and Easy Rider.
Can Easy ZZ continue to lead
an "unfettered life in a country that has lost its ideals"
(or the freedom to be free)? Laszlo
Bozzola.
