He had a son, Fred C. Fry, with Maggie E. Buck in Edinburg, Portage County, Ohio August 8, 1877. He was 22 years old. Both Royce and his son lived with his father, John M. Fry, at the time of the 1880 Census, and Maggie was not shown as a member of the household. He does not seem to have married Maggie when his son was born or thereafter. No further trace of Maggie has yet been found.

His son, Fred C. Fry died November 29, 1892 at the age of 15.

Royce married Nellie H. Brush Harrington February 5, 1890 in Detroit, Michigan. She was born in 1857 in Illinois. She died March 21, 1915.

Royce married, second, Alice E. Douglass, who was born in Canada, on January 15, 1916. Alice was born about 1876 in Canada. She immigrated to the United States in 1888 and was naturalized in 1895.

His marriage license states that he was married once before ‏(It would have been to Nellie)‏. It appears from later records ‏(1920 and 1940 U. S. Census)‏ that her middle name was Elizabeth, inasmuch as Elizabeth, not Alice, is shown on those records ‏(Her mother's name was also Elizabeth)‏. In the 1940 U. S. Census, her name is given as Elizabeth D. Fry.

Elizabeth D. Fry ‏(Alice)‏ died January 6, 1956.

Both John M. Fry and, later, Royce D. Fry were physicians, as well as Royce's brother, John Morris Fry, born in 1868 and deceased October 22, 1923.

Royce died February 23, 1943.
